After three years of weekly “spiritual shots in the arm,” the journey of the Living in the Rain podcast is coming to a close. What started as a five-minute podcast to encourage listeners heading into their work week has evolved into a profound learning experience for me. I hope it has been for you, the listeners, as well.
As we prepare to draw this chapter to a close, here is a look back at the journey, the lessons learned, and what lies ahead.
A Journey of Growth and Skill
Launching a podcast is more than just hitting “record.” Over the last 36 months, the process has required a significant evolution in communication and technical skills:
- The Art of Brevity: Moving from five-minute segments to ten-minute episodes taught the vital importance of speaking succinctly to capture the listener’s attention within the first 30 seconds.
- The Technical Grind: While recording is the creative heart of the project, the “tedious” work of editing remains the most demanding aspect of production.
- Content with Purpose: The goal was always to provide a spiritual focal point for the week, often paired with morning devotions, to help listeners hear from the Lord.
The Challenge of the “Void”
One of the most difficult hurdles for any independent creator is the lack of clear feedback. Navigating the metrics of various hosting platforms like Spotify and Amazon often left the impact of the show uncertain.
While some weeks saw only a handful of listeners, the mission was never about “likes” or “comments”. The primary focus remained on honoring the Lord and offering genuine help to those who tuned in.
Looking Forward: New Projects on the Horizon
The decision to end the podcast comes from a sense of spiritual release and a need to pivot toward new creative endeavors.
- Account Closure: The hosting platform account will be canceled at the end of March 2026.
- Final Call for Listeners: It is expected that all content will be removed once the account is closed. If there are episodes you have been meaning to hear, please listen before the end of the month.
- Future Focus: This transition allows for dedicated attention to other projects currently in development.
To the faithful few who tuned in every week and to those exploring the archives: thank you. Your support has meant a lot on this three-year journey. And remember, no matter where the journey takes us from here, it will always be about living in the Reign.
