Let me begin by saying that I absolutely love the Bible. I have read it, pondered it, and preached it for almost 40 years. It is still as fresh and alive to me today as it was in the beginning.
While I have no problems with the Bible itself, I do have some issues with its formatting. I have to wonder if the chapters and verses are sometimes more of a hindrance than a help.
Books. CD’s. DVD’s. Satellite TV. The Internet. All these media channels have made it possible for thousand of individuals claiming to speak for God to have access to people all over the world. While there are some very good and godly ministries to glean from, there are others that appear to be good on the surface but should be avoided at all costs. How should we respond to all these voices?
In order for reading the Bible to have an impact on our lives, we have to approach it from the standpoint of seeking the Lord. Approaching the Bible in this way will position us for the Lord to actually speak to us through the pages of Scripture. The purpose of this post is to help you hear God through the Bible. I learned this from my good friend, Mr. Wes Aarum, and it has been a tremendous benefit to my own life. It is now my pleasure to share it with you.
