There is a proper posture that we must adopt in order to effectively live in the Reign of God. We typically fight against this position with everything within us. Read on and find out what it is.
We are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us.
—2nd Corinthians 5:20
“The Apostle says that we are ambassadors of God, representing Christ, the messiah king, the regent of that last kingdom. When the British ambassador is in the British Embassy in Berlin, he is not subject to the laws of the German Reich. The grounds of the embassy, only the laws of the country he represents are valid.
“We are ambassadors of the kingdom of God. This means that we do nothing at all except what the king of God’s kingdom would himself do for his kingdom. When we take this service upon ourselves we enter into mortal danger.”
Brother Arnold was a true emissary of the King who knew by practical experience in Nazi Germany what it was to live in the Reign.
“Humanly speaking, we could understand and interpret the Sermon on the Mount in a thousand different ways. Jesus knows only one possibility: simple surrender and obedience, not interpreting it or applying it, but doing and obeying it. That is the only way to hear his word. He does not mean that it is to be discussed as an ideal; he really means us to get on with it.”
— Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Powerful words. Words to meditate on. Words that will help us learn to live in the Reign.
