Love is a wonderful thing. It validates our ministries and manifests the nature of God. That’s on the one hand. On the other hand it makes us incredibly vulnerable. It opens us to rejection. It takes a lot of time and effort that can seem to be wasted on people who don’t appreciate it. So why should we do it? Why should we make the effort to love one another? I can give you three concrete reasons.
Recently the Lord has been speaking to me quite a bit about walking in love. I am quickly learning that there is a lot more to it than one might think. This is something the Lord recently shared with me one morning as I sat with Him.
“Love is not always as easy as one might think at first. It has to make some tough decisions and then have the necessary courage to follow through. Yet love is the only way to stay close to Me. I AM love, and when you live in true love you are more like Me than at any other time.”
The more I read the New Testament and listen to the Lord, the more I realize that walking in love is one of the surest signs that we are really living in the Reign. What do you think?
Sometimes I think we forget the Lord is also our Heavenly Father. As such, He is concerned about every aspect of our lives, even the little things. Let’s face it, He is the one that has taken the time to number the hairs on our head (Matthew 10:30). Let me share a couple of recent testimonies of how the Lord has concerned Himself with some of the “little things” in our lives.
