21 For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things. Romans 1:21 – 23 ESV

By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. 1 John 4:13 ESV
Need Logs Removed?
3 “And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own? 4 How can you think of saying to your friend, ‘Let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,’ when you can’t see past the log in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye.” Matthew 7:3 – 5 NLT

Do You Know God?

Do you know God?
I mean, do you really know the Lord?
You may respond, “Oh yes, I have known the Lord for many years.”
Really?
Are you sure?
How can a person know if they really know the Lord, or if they simply know about Him?
Fortunately for us the apostle John provides the answer in 1st John 2:3 – 6.
And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked. ESV
So…what do you think? Do you really know the Lord according to what John writes? It appears to me that truly knowing God comes only as a result of daily living in the Reign.
