¹⁴ As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, ¹⁵ but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, ¹⁶ since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:14 – 16 ESV

Separated

Holiness is being separated to the Lord. It means we belong to Him and to Him alone. That being the case, everything in our lives are connected to Him. We are connected to Him. Our circumstances are connected to Him. Therefore everything must be brought into His Presence and considered in the light of who He is. Everything is to be brought to Him so He can give His counsel in every situation.

Never Presume

We must be careful to never presume on the Lord. We must never assume that we know what He is thinking in any given situation. We must go to Him and wait for His counsel. Even if it takes awhile to come, we must wait for it. Never must we move ahead until we know what the Lord is directing us to do. This is holiness in action.

A New Spin

This really put a new spin on holiness the other day when the Lord shared it with me. Too often we think of holiness merely in terms of what we don’t do. Holiness is just as much about what we do, because holiness is the lifestyle of one who is living in the Reign.
