The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
    all those who practice it have a good understanding.

The Beginning

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom because through it we will find the knowledge of God. The Lord only reveals Himself to those who show Him the appropriate respect. Casual inquirers need not apply. They may catch a glimpse of the Lord, but not enough to significantly impact their lives.

Never Fear

We must never fear to fear the Lord. Anything the fear of the Lord causes us to discard is something that is blocking our fellowship with Him. This, in turn, will prevent us from walking in our full identity as His children. It becomes an area the Lord doesn’t have access to because we are keeping it for ourselves. It will be something we constantly trip over until it is dealt with.

The Best

Fearing the Lord is the best posture we can take. It will liberate us in ways we cannot even imagine. It will cause us to walk in freedom because the decisions are made before the questions are ever asked. The fear of the Lord is the key to living in the Reign.
