Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28 NLT
Victory Road
Never struggle against sin.
I’m serious.
Instead, consider yourself dead to it. Live in the reality of all that God has accomplished in Christ. That is the road to victory.
Victory Through Rest
Too many of God’s people are trying to become something He has already made them to be. They struggle and strain to become more loving when He has already filled us with His divine nature. They fight and strive against some sin that has no power over them in the first place because of the Cross. If victory is gained by struggling it will have to be maintained by struggling. If victory is gained by resting in the Lord, victory will be able to be maintained by resting in the Lord.
Clinging by Faith
Victory through rest can only be accomplished by focusing on the Lord. Clinging by faith to what He has accomplished through the death and resurrection of Christ is the road out of struggle and into rest. That is the only struggle we should pursue: the struggle to let our heart rest 100% in the Lord. Living in the Reign is living in rest.
