It’s a Matter of Heart

Martha Kilpatrick of Shulamite Ministries is a thought provoking author and teacher.  She and her colleagues, John Enslow and Jennifer Wentzel, blog over at Get Along With God.  There they share some deeply stirring material about walking with the Lord.

Living Demonstration

Recently Martha wrote 2 posts entitled Living Demonstration (part 1, part 2).  In part one she provides an amazing illustration of the human heart as a board room where decisions are made.  It will make you think to say the least.  Here is one quote from that post.

“The heart is the determining place of our life’s meaning and direction and most of us are not present at our own meeting. We are not aware of our heart reactions and musings, much less the conclusions that form our very character and our distant future. So we consider that we are just poor victims of life.”

She goes on to share how John and Jennifer (the main authors on the blog) are living demonstrations of how life gets processed with God instead of just letting our minds and emotions run rampant.

In the second post, Martha shares how brutal honesty with God is the true pathway to getting along with Him.  Allow me to share another quote.

“It’s not introspection. It is spiritual honesty, genuine responsibility and it yields peace with God and joy in life. It’s “walking in the Light as He is in the Light…” (1 John 1:7). Presenting yourself always to God’s Searchlight of the heart and letting yourself be found and adjusted.”

That is a powerful statement of spiritual truth that outlines a pathway few are willing to walk.

Go For a Visit

I hope you will go and read both posts in their entirety.  I’m sure you will greatly profit by doing so.  I am equally certain you will find yourself going back to Get Along With God for another visit or two.  You will discover material there that will greatly assist you as you seek to live in the Reign.

We Have Not Learned Christ

It is appalling to think how few “Christians” really understand what the Christian life is all about.  Having been told that it is all about having your sins forgiven so you can go to Heaven when you die, they pretty much live like the rest of the world on any given day except Sunday.  The apostle Paul directly challenges that way of doing life.

Our Standing in Christ

682643_58228025

From the time we first enter the Kingdom of God, the Holy Spirit has been working to bring our state up to the level of our standing.  Our standing is who we are through our union with the Lord Jesus Christ.   Our state is the way we are at the present moment, whatever that may be.  The enemy of our souls often tricks us into thinking that our state is the real us.  If we agree with him, we will experience life on a much lower level than the Lord intends.  On the other hand, if we begin to agree with the Holy Spirit and live according to our standing in Christ, we will begin to live as though nothing is impossible.

In this brief video, Graham Cooke does a masterful job of outlining our standing in Christ.  It’s one of those videos you will want to view again and again.  It will definitely kick start your day and send you on your way rejoicing as you sally forth to live in the Reign.

Enjoy!

When we become citizens of the Kingdom of God we are given a whole new identity.  Regardless of who we were before we met King Jesus, He has destined every one of us to become someone who works together with Him in the expansion of His Kingdom.

In this brief video, author/speaker Graham Cooke takes a look at the process the Lord uses to transform us from who we are into who He wants us to be.  No one can say it like Graham can.  I hope you enjoy it.  It will be a real boost to help you as you seek to live in the Reign.

Walking in Love

Recently the Lord has been speaking to me quite a bit about walking in love.  I am quickly learning that there is a lot more to it than one might think.  This is something the Lord recently shared with me one morning as I sat with Him.

“Love is not always as easy as one might think at first.  It has to make some tough decisions and then have the necessary courage to follow through.  Yet love is the only way to stay close to Me.  I AM love, and when you live in true love you are more like Me than at any other time.”

The more I read the New Testament and listen to the Lord, the more I realize that walking in love is one of the surest signs that we are really living in the Reign.  What do you think?
