A Side Issue?

(Look ! I am coming soon!
Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy expressed in this book.) Revelation 22:7 NET

For the most part, the study of the end times has been thought to be the province of weirdos, specialists, or conspiracy theorists. We may need to rethink that…

It Might Surprise You

Many people think the whole end times thing is merely a side issue. Yes, it’s in the Bible so it must be of some importance, but not important enough to give any serious attention to it. If you are one of those who think that, it might surprise you to know that there are almost 200 chapters (not verses) devoted to the subject in the Bible.

Yes, you read that right.

If that’s the case, it can easily be seen that the end times is no side issue.

The Break Down

Here is how it breaks down by sections in the Book:

  • The Old Testament
    • The five books of Moses – 7 chapters
    • The Psalms – 27 chapters
    • The Major Prophets – 69 chapters (yikes!)
    • The Minor Prophets – 34 chapters
  • The New Testament – 33 chapters

Add it all together and this is what you find:

OT: 137 chapters

NT: 33 chapters

Total: 170 chapters!

Still think it’s a minor issue?

Worthy of Our Attention

Anything that takes up that much space in the Bible is more than worthy of our attention. Yet, if we want to be totally honest, for most of us (me included) it has received the least amount of attention. That needs to change. The end times must occupy a vital place in the study and the proclamation of those of us who are living in the Reign.

  1. It’s good to stay alert, aware and informed………..stay in God’s word, and in prayer. Any well-informed Christian would realize that we are in the last days.
